I started planning this week's show today. There just isn't many good stories out there yet. Seriously the stories I find prove truth is stranger than fiction. We've also got the first female co-host this week as Nicole Brewer occupies the seat next to me. Also we need to figure out hwo to do the segment her and Andrea have talked about doing (Which contrary to popular belief I really like). So yes that means Nicole and Andrea will be sitting close to me on set.....You're jealous!!!........I love having my own show =)

The Marathon is going strong as most of the slasher films are out of the way. Now we get down to the psychological horror. Once again everyone is invited to room 211 at the inn for a scary flick, and if you're lucky I'll give you some pointless facts about the film. If you have no idea what I'm talking about read the post below this one.

Saturday ngiht we might be going to Arnold's which should be fun. I'd like to find a haunted house type thing for Friday but there is nothing nearby. Terror Hill was ok this past weekend but they didn't do enough with it. We're talking about maybe doing our own horror thing next year.

I'll be back with some more thoughts tomorrow night

It's taken me a while to get this together and on the blog but here it is.
This week is Horror Movie Madness Marathon in Room 211 at The Inn. I will be watching 11 horror movies in all this week in celebration of my favorite movie genre. If you see a movie that you would like to see and it's at a time that works for you you are more than welcome to attend. If there is a movie you really want to see but the time doesn't work for you then let me know and I'll consider moving the showing. There is no admission charge and you don't have to bring a thing except maybe a flashlight so you won't be scared walking home. Below are the times with a synopsis of the film.

    (all times are pm)

    Monday October 27

3:30-5:00 House of 1000 Corpses- Two lost couples find themselves stranded for the night in an old dark house where they are set upon by the family in residence that dabbles in murder, witchcraft, and cannibalism which are just a few of the 1,000+ secrets buried in the field behind their house.

11:30-1:30 Poltergeist- A young family are visited by ghosts in their home. At first the ghosts appear friendly, moving objects around the house to the amusement of everyone, then they turn nasty and start to terrorise the family before they "kidnap" the youngest daughter.

    Tuesday October 28

1:00-2:30 Child's Play- When serial killer Charles Lee Ray is mortally wounded in a police shoot-out, he uses a voodoo spell to transfer his soul into Chucky, a "Good Guys" doll. Andy receives the doll as a birthday gift, and Chucky soon resumes his killing spree. However, Charles doesn't want to be trapped in the body of a doll forever. His only escape would be to transfer into the first human he revealed his true identity to... which places Andy in mortal danger.

3:00-4:30 House on Haunted Hill (1999)- When an eccentric millionaire offer a group of opposites $1,000,000 to spend the night in a so called "Haunted House" with a murderous past, they figure it is a quick way to get quick money and leave. All of them are sure it is some made up story just to mess with their heads a little and test their courage. But, once they stay in the house they start to think about the mistake they made in coming there when mysterious things start to happen

10:30-12:00 Nightmare on Elm Street- Nancy and her friends are having violent nightmares which all feature one common element, a disfigured serial killer with a glove made of razors on his right hand. When one of the group is murdered in their sleep. Nancy realises that she must stay awake and try uncover the truth behind this phantasmic killer Freddy Krueger.

    Wednesday October 29

12:15-2:00 Stir of Echoes- Tom's a regular guy, a utilities lineman, married, with a young son, his wife is pregnant; he hangs out with long-time pals in a Chicago neighborhood. At a party, his sister-in-law hypnotizes him, and he goes into a deep trance. Before waking him, she suggests that he keep his mind open. That night he sees flashes of violence and the ghost of a young woman. His young son, too, is "a receiver," but while the boy is calm and coherent in his conversations with spirits, Tom is confused and agitated. Over time, the young woman's story comes to the surface, and Tom begins a hunt for her body that puts him and his usually understanding wife, Maggie, in grave danger.

2:00-3:30 Wrong Turn- In a throwback to 1970's horror films such as "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "The Hills Have Eyes", "Wrong Turn" is an independently-made horror film about a group of five youths on a hiking trip in the Appalachains of West Virginia who become prey to a family of cannibalistic mountain men who have become horribly disfigured through generations of in-breeding.

3:30-5:00 If I Die Before I Wake- A suburban family is held hostage and terrorized by three intruders while their sixteen year-old daughter first hides, then exacts her own brand of terror on the assailants.

11:00-1:00 Willard- Willard is an awkward, inept young man ostracized by the world around him. His gloomy existance takes a turn for the weird, though, when he discovers that his connection with a pet rat has gained him acceptance among the ranks of rodentia, and soon, Willard is using his newfound army of vermin to get revenge on everyone who's done him wrong. (Has become one of my favorite films)

    Thursday Ocotber 30

1:30-3:30 The Exorcist- Based on the 1971 novel by William Peter Blatty, The Exorcist marries three different scenarios into one extraordinary plot. A visiting actress in Washington, D.C., notices dramatic and dangerous changes in the behavior and physical make-up of her 12-year-old daughter. Meanwhile, a young priest at nearby Georgetown University begins to doubt his faith while dealing with his mother's terminal sickness. And, book-ending the story, a frail, elderly priest recognizes the necessity for a show-down with an old demonic enemy. (My absolute favorite horror movie ever)

TBA- Troll 2- A young child is terrified to discover that a planned family trip is to be haunted by vile man-eating monsters out of his worst nightmare. His attempt to save his beloved family is assisted by the spectre of his deceased grandfather. (The funniest movie not meant to be funny ever)

Nothing really exciting this past week. I guess I was still kind of depressed about the Red Sox huge loss last Thursday. I hate the Yankees more than anything you can imagine. Well, maybe their fans. See cause jumping on a bandwagon and rooting for the Yankees is terrible, because it requires nothing of the fan. You can always expect a playoff berth. It is really difficult being a Red Sox fan and waiting for the bottom to drop out. Seriously though, rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for cancer or Hitler. Everything that is evil is embodied by the Yankees. Anyways....

Friday I saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre with Pat and one of his friends from school. The movie is good but nowhere near as good as the original. Not even really in the same ballpark. Not bad, just nothing spectacular.

Saturday night I studied for my art test and watched the world series. Sunday I watched the Eagles crawl to a victory over the Giants and then studied more for my test- passing up wrestling. I know it shocked me too. It payed off though because I got a 90 on my test.
Monday night Raw was actually really good, and last night I found out that Turning Japanese is not about masturbation. I always thought it was...Anyways that's it....Later

    Wrong Turn

I bought this movie on Tuesday without ever seeing it based on the review of Mr. Arrow over at joblo.com. His tastes and mine usually fly pretty close together so I picked it up and.....WOW!!
The movie begins by setting the pace for what is happening. Two lovers are hiking when all of a sudden the guy disappers from the top of the rock and then reappears dead. The girl is then slaughtered by yet as unseen forces. Next we see Chris driving through West Virginia on his way to a big meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina. He gets held up by a truck spill on the road and takes a backroad to get back to the highway. There he smashes into the vehicle of 5 college students out on a camping retreat. Chris, Jessie, Carly, and Carly's financee head off to find help leaving behind two of the friends. Trouble lurks in the woods as the camera goes to some POV shots from the woods. As the kids get offed one by one the tension builds. The stalekrs are 3 (?) inbred, cannibalistic mountain men who kill people as a means of food and survival-I think-. The 4 get trapped in the house with the men and watch them hack their friends bodies apart in terror.
They begin to get picked off one by one, with an absolutely cool scene, and the chae is on through the woods of West Virginia. There is another great death scene towards the end and it actually made me jump a little.
The mountain men are done up well by Stan WInston's make-up company and they are shown effectively throughout. The cinematography is beautiful, and the story is chilling and unsettling.
The characters are pretty much one-dimensional but that's par for the course in horror films. Also they don't really give any new ground to horror films- it's pretty much the same old thing. However Eliza Dushku looks extremely good in the film and that always works for me....We'll call the movie a.............................B

So I'm back now from my Fall Break. I love having these days off in the middle of the semester. It makes it go fast because it is a short time til Thanksgiving then three weeks and it's the end. I love when it moves quick like that.

So to update from the last blog. I got a 96 on my Logic test so getting done in 30 minutes wasn't bad. Also the Red Sox trail the Yankees 3-2 in the series and are pretty much done. There is just no way they are going to win 2 in New York. You can bet the house on that. They're free to prove me wrong but I know they won't. It looks to like the Cubs will end their misery, so good for them.

Over this past weekend I added 5 dvd's to my collection and reserved another one. On Thursday I bought The Italian Job, Willard, and The Lion King Platinum Collection. Then today I bought The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Wrong Turn which I will review later this week. My friend also went to buy the TCM without ever seeing it, so it must be based on my recommendation solely- I'll think it is anyway. If it is on my recommendation it's good becasue I've never steered him wrong with films- ask him. I also reserved a copy of Finding Nemo today. you want to see a goofy reaction from a clerk buy the two aforementioned horror movies and then reserve a kiddie movie.

While in at Suncoast the clerk was talking to another guy about stupid customers. I always wonder how much truth is in their stories or whether it is a battle of oneupmanship. They were exchanging customer stories.

Monday night I joined at Bechtelsville Fire Company. I need to go through the review process but I think I'm in. I also may have hockey to look forward to in the winter- so training starts now.

I'm also having a mini-horror festival the week of Halloween. It's for me and me alone no one is invited. So ha...And on that note I'm outta here.

My gosh. How long has it been since I updated this thing? A quick check of the page tells me it's been- 2 weeks. Holy Crap I slack on this thing. Oh well here I am now and posting, so there (Eat it Zach-O)

These weeks have been interesting. My problem from the last blog had been settled I thought but still nothing has aired. No idea what the issue is there, but I'll get to the bottom of it. In addition to that show news, I filmed and edited the big celebrity interview and it is phenomenal, some jump cuts because I edited it on vcr's to protect the secrecy but it is worth every minute of its running time.

It is October, one of my favorite months because I love horror films. They will soon start popping up on television. I hope AMC runs a marathon again this year. I just hope they add more films. If I have to see The Serpant and the Rainbow more than twice I'll flip shit.

I had two test this past week. I got my Advanced Composition one back and got a 91 which is great. I didn't think I did that good. I was done the Logic one in 30 minutes. That can be good or bad. Quick update tonight just to touch base.

Oh and BTW GO RED SOX.....BEAT SOME YANKEE ASS!!!!!!!
