So now that it's been two weeks since Classy Freddie Blassie died I have finally collected my thoughts on the subject. When they announced on Raw that Blassie had died I was in shock. He had just been on three weeks prior looking pretty good for a man his age. My dad said, "I remember watching him wrestle as a kid." I was unlucky in that regard because he was only a manager by the time I was a kid so he wasn't around in the ring. He lived to the age of 85 much like many people my dad watched as a kid. Some of the guys I've watched growing up have not been so lucky. "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Davey Boy Smith, Louie Spicolli, Brian Pillman, and Kerry Von Erich are just a short list of those who have passed away because of various problems related to drugs and pills. Some of the them like Rude, and Smith had weakened arteries from years of steriod abuse and then had heart attacks at the ages of 40 and lower. In fact Hennig was the only one of them who made it into his 40's--42 to be exact. It is an epidemic that people I watched growing up are passing away. Why is that? It's no coincidence that the wrestlers of previous eras live longer. They didn't have the rampant steriod and drug problems that are prevalent in modern day sports. Now in a constant effort to be bigger and better, and hold up under the pressure packed schedule they live they turn to drug use and abuse. How does this tie to all sports? Baseball especially has a problem with steriod testing, don't give me the nonsense about it being a growth hormone, it does the same damn thing as steriods. Baseball players keep trying to hit the ball further and getign bigger and bigger to help fuel the offensive surge baseball promotes. This is terrible because they are leading thier own players down a destructive path. Anything that can drastically change a body composition like these supplements is bad because it leads to probelms down the road becuase there is no cutoff point. When does one get to big? THe players keep turning away steriod testing proposals because bigger offensive numbers mean bigger money-heavy contracts. For all the terrible decision Bud Selig has made as commissioner: lettign the all-star game end in a tie, almost leading the league into a strike, and using the All-Star Game to determine home field advantage in the World Series: he needs to take charge here. Tell the players to forego Donald Fehr and their miserable little union. Tell the players to allow themselves to be tested for steriods to prove they are clean, and fine them if they refuse testing. The players well-being is at stake, in all sports, and even sports entertainment like wrestling.

Last week I worked most of the week. After going back to work on Wednesday night I was there until 9. Thursday I worked another 7 hours, stopping only once for a Misto break. Friday I worked six and a half hours, and then played hockey and messed my knee up pretty good. My originally plans for Saturday night got changed because the movie theater was showing the film I wanted to see at a goofy time, so since that shot my plans after working ten hours I came home and crashed. I needed that anyway. Especially after the wing on the fan at work broke and bonced off my nose. It still hurts like hell. Sunday was four more hours of work followed by the monthly pay-per-view. It wasn't really good, which I blame on the writers and their lack of young stars--which they tried to rectfiy last night on RAW. For the most part, they did a good job of it. The past two days have included rides on the train to work. An interesting, uncaring bunch rides those trains. Someone could have a heart attack and drop over and 75% of the people wouldn't notice. Add that to the terrible areas you go past and it makes for a depressing trip...Economically sound, but very depressing. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder----well if it got any fonder for me, it'd burst. I got off another of my qupis the other day at work when an ugly woman walked in and Eddie said how would you like to rub her stuff, "I wouldn't rub her stuff even if a genie popped out and offered me three wishes."
Tomorrow is only two hours of work followed by god knows what. Read above this as I started putting up some of the postings I promised last week. Again thanks for reading

After a couple days here I am again with a new post. Friday I worked and then went out to Fun Days to watch all the old guys play softball. Some of those guys take the league way too seriously. I mean you don't even win anything if you win the league so what's the point. Saturday I drove to Norristown to find out where the train station is and to make sure I know how to travel there should I decide to use that as my new means of transportation to Philadelphia, which I probably will. After that Joel and I went to what will forever be referred to as The Event. (Don't ask me what it is either--cause I'll tell you it's The Event). After that we watched Smackdown. Sunday I went to Sunday School and got to talk to Hayley again.....Hayley rocks--(Just saying in case she reads this). Then after work Joel and I went to Rita's again to pick up some Mistos. The contest is still on--I believe we are tied....unless he is going in behind my back. Monday and Tuesday were two more days at Fox which is really the biggest piece of cake job I've ever had. Then today I worked at the deli once going back again tonight. See nothing interesting--I work and sleep.....that's all the better it gets.....People that work at Rita's rule..once again just saying......There are a few more posts coming in the next couple days with my thoughts on the death of Classy Freddie Blassie, one of my best papers I've ever written (I thought about it yesterday at work going over show's ratings), and as a special bonus the transcript of my monologue the night I hosted the premiere of The Warden...Thanks for readin and drop me a line to either praise or bitch---but mostly praise.

Piggy thought he had the upper hand on me with this little Misto Madness contest. For those who don't know, Joel and I frequent Rita's Water Ice in North Coventry pretty much daily--(Well until he started working second shift)---Anyway Rita's has a contest where if you buy a Misto shake you get tickets in a raffle to win a month's worth of free ice. The grand prize is a 200 dollar gift certificate to Wal-Mart. Well Joel im'ed me yesterday to say the competition is his. Well today I evened the score...I will not fail. So how can you my readers help. If you'd liek you can send me a im and I will send you my address so you can send me a dollar to help me purchase more ices...I will not be stopped in my eternal conquest for Wal-Mart superdom.

Besides all that. My week is great. The bitch at work got fired and I picked up more hours so I'll mkae some more cash, (but still send dollars). Also I began filming some segments for my tv show...Zach and I talekd last night about how the show needs to become more consistently funny, instead of joke and then dead spot. Considering trying to get a live studio audience. Might add something, but it probably won't pass the thought process....Oh well....See I can post multiple times a week

I was thinking of running a personal ad in the paper So here is what I came up with. Tell me if this works for you:

If you're a girl who is not allergic to duct tape--you're my type of woman
If you can chew through rope and run for help--you're not for me.
I'd like to meet a girl who will tell me "I love you because you're the biggest stud I've ever seen"--even when it's not true.
The girl must also say "Seriously I like guys for their personality and not looks"--without bursting into laughter
And ladies if you want to know what I look like imagine Brad Pitt---with a different head and a different body.
If you posess none of these than a girl who is blind, looking to hand out pity dates, or in possession of a time machine is preferred so we can go back to that 2 week window in my life where girls found me attractive.
    Thank You.

Yesterday and Today were my first two days at FOX 29 in Philadelphia. The first two days were very slow because I only had some filing to do. It isn't much but I aim to help people out and I helped this girl Jolene out a bunch by doing those things for her. I was sick on Monday so on my lunch break I took a nap in my car in the parking garage after taking some medication. Today I said in the conference room with two of the guys who work in the department and we discussed some of the viewing habits of people and watched the various shows on the networks at that time. I get an hour for lunch there so it is pretty nice. The traffic was not near as bad as I thought it would be. I left both days at 6:30 because I figured traffic would be rough. I arrived at FOX at 7:55 the first day and at 8:05 today. I would think I could wait to go down but then I'd hit major traffic and that would make me late. We don't want that.
Sunday night Joel and I made the usual rounds hitting up Wally World and Rita's. I began my summer conquest of Misto Madness. I aim to win becasue first prize is a 200.00 gift certificate to Wal- Mart which would come in handy. That's it..nothing big just wanted to update closer together than normal because i think people count on me. So have a good one

Last night Joel and I were at the Ring of Honor show in Philadelphia last night. I will recap the night for you and breakdown some things.
The event was titled "Do Or Die," and was meant as this was a night for many new talents to showcase their skills since so many of the established stars weren't there.
The night began with the showcase card which was fairly uneventful but Persiphone is a good lokoing woman and looks to have some talent. With that out of the way let's break down the card.
Danny Maff vs. BJ Whitmer- This was Maff's first singles match in ROH (I think) He looked very impressive and so did Whitmer. Supposedly these are two of the hardest hitters on the indy corcuit and they delivered some brutal shots and suplexes to each other. They also gave the new ring railings a workout as they whipped each other into all four ends of the area. The new signs they had on the rails echoed nicley and add something special to the feel of the event. Maff won it with the burning hammer and then cut a promo only to be interrupted by Julius Smokes who confronted him about turning on Monster Mack. Low Ki eventually confronted both men and Homicide which led to Homicide being superkicked by Trent Acid.
Tony Mamaluke vs Jason Cross - These guys had one of the better matches of the night as Mamaluke broke out soem interesting submission moves and Cross looked to be more in control than I've seen him before. Most matches with him I've seen he is sloppy and misses spots. Tonight he hit everything and looked impressive. It was a good match from two guys who have workd together before and know each others tendancies.
Iceberg vs Oman Tortuga- This was the match fans turned on chanting "Don't Come Back" at Iceberg after the match. I'm still not real sure why. The match wasn't bad at all and was your classic big man vs. little guy fight. It wasn't the type of action that is the norm for ROH but god forbid we have diversity. I'd be surprised if Iceberg comes back.
Matt Stryker vs. Tom Carter- These guys officially moved into the upper echelon of the superstars in ROH. They put on a pure mat wrestling clinic for about 20-25 minutes and worked on various body parts with more innovative submission holds. There were competing chants of "Let's Go Stryker" and "Let's Go Carter" It made for a big match atmosphere. Carter worked Stryker's ankle all match before Stryker reversed his cloverleaf type move into a pinning combination. Carter then cut a heel promo and challenged Stryker to a tap out match at the next show. They also forshadowed Carter joining The Prophecy.
The Second City Saints (Colt Cabana and C.M. Punk) vs Special K vs The Briscoe Brothers vs Carnage Crew - Some new faces in the scramble led to some fresh match-ups and fresh moves. Special K is still the most annoying group in wrestling history and piss me off the more they are there. Punk And Cabana were the stars of the match and eventually won after Punk did a pedigree type move onto another member of Special K for the win. He then cut a wicked promo on the Philly Crowd and Raven. The crowd booed him because he preached his Straight Edge lifestyle. Only in Philly could he become a massive heel because of that. Wrestling fans should laud him for his beliefs because he won't be a wrestler who ends up dead at age 40 because of the drugs and alcohol.
Andy Anderson vs John Walters -This was another in the long run of solid matches on the show. However the crowd didn't react to either guy becasue it was just after intermission and neither guy was recognizable. Both guys looked good from what I remember but somewhat unremarkable. Both would be solid additions in ROH though.
Christopher Daniels vs C.M. Punk vs Jimmy Rave vs Frankie Kazarian - This was an excellent match with two stories going on throughout the match. First there was the beginning of a feud between Punk and Daniels. Also there was Kazarian and Rave trying to fit their moves in against the two main guys. Rave did an excellent job of selling throughout the match and really added believability to the offense. Kazarian was solid but underutilized in the match. Daniels was the perfect guy to match against the three young guys as he is the most respected member of the promotion. The star of the match though was Punk. He has the look, the gimmick, and the mic work to be huge in the business one day. He is now the major heel in the promotion.
Backseat Boyz vs Jody Fleisch and Slim J - This was probablt the most disappointing match of the night as it had the potential to be huge yet fell short of that. Most of that I blame on Fleisch and Slim J. J's offense was slow and poorly executed. Fleisch is highly overrated as a wrestler. When he is hitting his high spots he looks impressive, and they are sweet. However when he is in matches with people who doesn't normally wrestle he appears to be lost and unable to adjust to the crowd's reactions. The match built to a huge high spot where they did twin moonsaults off a scaffold and it looked impressive but was real interesting. The crowd booed the Boyz but they are hugely talented workers that have payed dues all over the place.
Samoa Joe vs Homcide - I never thought I'd say this about a match involving Samoa Joe, but this was phenomenal. It was one of the most brutal matches I've ever seen. Once again the rails got a workout from the competitors and there were some hard hits leveled. Homicide did an insane dive at Joe going through a table right in front of us and it looked painful. Then on a suplex it looked like Joe was hurt badly but then continued. Not sure what the case was there. Maybe he was hurt initially and then not hurt as bad as they originally thought. They ended with a huge move off the top rope. It looked like a Ki Krusher. Homicide appeared to be either hurt or dehydrated completely after the match as they were dumping water on him and trying to revive him. The match appeared to set-up a future Ki vs Joe match and that should be entertaining. Next show is June 28th, and Joel and I are right at the entranceway. So it should be an interesting night. It was another solid ROH show at the Murphy Rec followed by some great pancakes at the Oregon Diner. Many of the guys succeeded in being successful at their first ROH shot and I hope to see many of them again.
